This is a copy of the videotape taken from Stanford part-time officer Ramiro Bosquez' squad car during a March 21, 2008 traffic stop. Bosquez cited Mayor Margaret J. Campbell for failure to dim headlights, inoperable headlights and expired registration. But, before he issues the tickets, you'll hear him call Police Chief Everett Copeland to tell him he had Campbell pulled over and was about to issue her traffic tickets. Chief Evertt's response, "fantasic." The Stanford Village Board has now failed to renew Copeland's contract and Bosquez no longer works as a police officer. Jul 27, 2008 - Isn't the election in 09? I don't even live in Stanford, and I'm pretty sure that's when it is. Or maybe you just don't know what the difference is between the 2. 08 - this year. 09 - next year.

Jul 27, 2008 - Before you get outraged that someone is badmouthing your family, who doesn't even life in your town.. I know Campbell and Boz. Dislike both, but will stand behind who was wrongly accused. I've never understood why low lifes get off the hook so easy. Maybe I should bring myself down to a lower level? HAHA. No, no, that was a joke. I like living the good, ACTUAL HARD WORKING life.

Jul 27, 2008 - what kind of problems have you had xas1004? I live in Stanford and have not had any problems since Everett was suspended.

xas1004 Says:

Jul 27, 2008 - OMFG GROW UP ALL OF YOU! Campbell was in the wrong not Boz. I live in this town never had a problem with anyone 'till the day we lost our police! I have been told that there is a sheriff out here every night well that is a bull shit lie b/c if there were it wouldn't have taken them 45 damn min. to get a sheriff out to my house when the fucking window got broken! Had we had police the two-faced bitches who did it would have gotten in trouble and had to pay for it. That didn't happen they got off!

friendofm Says:

Jul 27, 2008 - maybe you never had to call everett to make a complaint, I did. he never did anything. even when you knew exactly who committed the crime. he just said he didn't have enough evidence.

kaileysdaddy Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - I have watched the video a few times. The officer did NOTHING wrong. He was very well spoken to the MADAM PRESIDENT ( are you kidding me ) that right there shows she is way to high up on the hobby horse. She broke the law, plain and simple. As for calling the Chief, I would think that was a good call to inform him of the stop and to expect a phone call to say the least. Maybe they had tried to pull her over before for the broken headligh but were unable to. The officer had no way of knowing who

kaileysdaddy Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - it was he was stopping as the (MADAM PRES that still makes me laugh) till he was either passed or behind her. Police all the time see someone breaking a law and at the time are unable to stop them due to other stops they are on, maybe they were unable to turn around in time but have an idea what the car or person looked like and would stop them the next time they get a chance. The State Attn, Stanford mayor need to be voted out of office. I may just buy some land or maybe a rental house in

kaileysdaddy Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - Stanford to be able to vote and voice my opinion. I do not know the Cheif or Mayor. I have somehwat know the office for many many years. Starting back in an Explorer Post when we were teen's and interested in law enforcement. He was very, very professional back then. I have read he received something for many DUI arrest. No matter is she was so called targeted, she is the MAYOR, she should know better to have proper working vehicle and up to date plates.

kaileysdaddy Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - She should set an example not be a law breaker. Also yes the MAYOR did have a say in the board of trustees vote. If you think she did not you are more ignorant than she was for having a not proper working headlight and an expired plates. Anyone else would have gotten the same tickets.

LSands1956 Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - Kaileysdaddy is exactly right. Anyone else would have gotten the same tickets from this particular officer and it is horrible that this Margaret person thought she was so above the law that she didn't deserve tickets. Stanford is a small town and undoubtedly the officers had seen her disobeying the law before. Maybe they had even seen her expired plates. However, the town is little more than a subdivision anyway and doesn't really need its own police. IMO, the worst one is the State's Atty.

bigbadtdybear06 Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - sam, your the one that live's in a trashy ass richard green house.

edrocker07 Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - I don't know of one person on my block that will vote for her again.......

xas1004 Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - really we do need police. trust on this one.

tbets12 Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - KD wrote: " No matter is [if] she was so called [,] targeted, she is the MAYOR"Your argument is faulty. So, its ok to be targeted if our the mayor? Which is more of an egregious offense? Being a mayor and driving with out headlights and an expired plate sticker...or .....Being a police officer who is openly targeting a citizen in your community? I would hope you can see the difference. should the lady have taken her tickets..yes...was the officer wrong and terminated justifiably? yes.

kaileysdaddy Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - The officer broke NO LAWS, he did his job. The Mayor had un operable head light, expired plates. She started from the begining that she felt she was above the law. So did Gov. George Ryan look where he is! There is no fault to the argumentshe broke the law and got what she deserved then used her political tie's to get them dropped. She said she had no idea that the states attn. was even looking into it BULL SHIT. I would bet she is not voted in another term, wanna take that bet?

iluvtk08 Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - I agree with Kaileysdaddy also, even though it is repeated several times. I think Boz had every right to ticket the so called "mayor" and she should have paid the fines. I don't think it justifies firing the whole police department because she feels she was targeted. She was targeting Everett and Mike B. since day one. Boz fell right in that target. L Sands is wrong, we do need our own police. Apparently, you don't see the town whores and brats doing stuff, plus other things.

iluvtk08 Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - I can't wait until the next election. I hope to god there are choices this time for voting. I do not believe that the board is the one that voted Everett and them out. If so, then "MADAM PRESIDENT" (wait, I have to pick myself up off the floor from laughter) hand picked the board herself so they would side with her. I know she wanted people on the board that would go against Everett from day one. And you all don't think that wasn't targeting the police department???? Think again.

xas1004 Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - i would have to agree and from the sounds of things truthneeded is going to run against her and i'll be voteing for them!

LSands1956 Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - Stanford may need police, but I don't feel much safer because Bos stopped someone on the highway for not dimming their lights. I don't think the mayor should have gotten off, but I also think Bos was looking a little too hard that night for things to do. From the stop to the intervention by the state's atty, the whole incident was a waste of public funds and time. The time and money could have been spent in a whole lot better ways. We need more in Stanford than this garbage.
