NICK: No big deal. I don't care. It makes me feel...unique. *This time, as he grins at her, he gets a small smile in return. As he does, he notices how pretty she was, even after crying. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of green with really long eyelashes. He smiles again, and she looks considerably happier.*NICK: *In a gentle voice...* That's better. See, it's not so bad, is it?GABRIELLE: Sorry, I am just so not good around boys. Or celebrities. So I guess you just make me double-nervous!NICK: Well, don't be. I'm not that scary, really. I mean, once you get past my ferocious, bear-like tendencies, I am a quiet little cub.*Gabrielle starts to laugh.*NICK: What? You don't believe me?GABRIELLE: *Still giggling.* No, it's just that... you do remind me of a bear...A panda bear! *She cracks up.*NICK: Hey, I thought this wasn't a laughing matter! Now we get to make fun of the wounded boy? *He pretends to sulk.*GABRIELLE: *Laughing.* No, just the boy who was been beaten up by a girl.NICK: Hey! Hurting my feelings here! It's not my fault if a tiny little girl decides to throw her fist into my face as I walk by her. How could you even reach my eye, anyway?*Nick dodges out of the way as Gabrielle tries to jab her elbow into his gut, and just misses.*GABRIELLE: *In mock-outrage...* Excuse me, I am not that small!NICK: What? Oh, sorry, didn't see you down there.*He grins, then jumps away as Gabrielle attempts to smack his arm. He turns and puts her in a headlock, so she can't move.*NICK: Ha! Caught by a guy who can't even see you properly! Who's got skill now?*At this moment, Kevin reenters the room a bag filled it with ice.*KEVIN: Here, Nick, I got... *He spots Gabrielle in Nick's iron headlock.* Oh, sorry, am I interrupting something? *Nick lets go of Gabrielle and they both straighten up, embarrassed.*NICK: No, sorry. Thanks, Kev. *He puts the icepack on his eye and jumps.* Yeow, that's freezing!JOE: *Walking back into the room.* Generally, ice is cold, Nick. That's why they call it ice.NICK: *Disgruntled.* Oh shut up.*Gabrielle laughs and Nick sneaks a look at her, hoping she doesn't notice him watching her. However, when he looks at her face, he finds her green eyes staring back into his. She looks down at her feet, embarrassed to be caught staring. Joe looks from Nick to Gabrielle, then back to Nick, and grins. He walks over to the table, pulls a pen out of his pocket, and starts writing on a scrap of paper. Just then, a voice from another room calls, "Come on guys, it's almost show time!" Kevin jumps and walks to the other room, picking up his guitar from the couch as he walks. Joe turns around and hands something to Nick. This goes unnoticed by Gabrielle, who is looking at her watch.*GABRIELLE: Oh no, I have got to get back to my friends! They're probably freaking out right now. Sorry guys, I have to go!JOE: Okay, bye then. Oh, and keep practicing that uppercut. I think, next time, you should try for both eyes!GABRIELLE AND NICK: It's not funny!! *They turn to each other again and crack up. Joe gives them a weird look and walks out of the room.*GABRIELLE: Well, I need to go. I am soooooo sorry about your eye. I really didn't mean to. I wasn't trying...NICK: *Interrupting her apology...* Gabrielle, its okay. I'm fine.*He takes the ice pack away from his eye, and Gabrielle sees that the swelling has gone down a lot.* I can see now and everything. I'm fine. Just go back to your friends before they call security.*Gabrielle laughs, and turns to go.*NICK: Aren't you going to say goodbye?*Turning around, she starts to say bye, when Nick sticks out his hand for a handshake. Confused, she shakes his hand. When she pulls away, she feels something in her hand. Just then, Kevin's voice calls from the other room, "Come on Nick! Now!" Nick turns to go, still smiling. As Gabrielle leaves the room, she looks at what Nick had put in her hand during the handshake. Unfolding the tiny piece of paper, she sees a bunch of numbers written with black pen. In a rush of understanding, she grins widely and stows Nick Jonas' phone number in her pocket.*Okay I SWEAR it gets more interesting. And cuter. =] I just had to introduce everyone and get the story started.
